Well, I’m glad you brought this up. Because, again, there are good Priests out there, Priests who really do try to do the right thing. And that should be celebrated.
I know I come on here, and I challenge the faith. But, there are good Priests out there, Priests who try their best. And those Priests deserve to be given praise. I could never be a Priest, cause when you’re a Priest you take on such a huge responsibility. There’s a reason why they go through so much hard work. I’m sure seminary isn’t easy, and I’m sure their studies are pretty grueling (I can only imagine the hard work a man would have to go through to gain the title of Priest).
And you know, the other thing is, I have a vice. And, it is something that I struggle with, cause it’s very disordered and very wrong. And I’m sure there are some Priests who do struggle with my same vice and are constantly fighting the good fight, and aren’t giving in. Part of the reason I have a hard time trusting people is because of my vice. And, I am going to a men’s group and it’ll be nice to unload and talk about my struggles, because I don’t really have anyone. And I’m sure there are Priests who feel lonely too, cause you know they have to take a vow of chastity. They can’t be married really (although I think there are some exceptions).
It takes great courage to become a Priest. The good Priest’s are never mentioned enough, and they should be. These are men who have dedicated their lives to God’s goodness, against a culture that is becoming more and more Godless. God bliss the Priest’s who continue to be examples of God’s love to the world.
Thank you Stephen for reminding me that Priests are people too. Every once in a while, I need to be humbled because sometimes I run my mouth too much. I’m not as great of an example as I should be, but, I’m working on it. I’m literally counting down the days to go to this group. I hope I can eventually beat my vice with Jesus’s help.
In the words of Stephen, Peace Always,
-Jacob (or Jake)
