Movie Recommendations

I highly suggest that you watch the movie Dear Evan Henson if you haven’t already done so. It is so good! It’s any age friendly, meaning anyone of all ages can watch it. Although, you got to be careful because Evan’s friend (which is an Indian) is a little gross at times, but the movie for the most part is pretty good. There is singing in the movie too, so not sure if that’s something you would be interested in, but the movie as a whole is really beautiful.

What other movies are good to watch?

One of my favorites, which I have watched many times, is The Wizard of Oz. I’ve also watched A Man for All Seasons (about St. Thomas More) a few times. Other very good dramas: The Pianist, Citizen Kane, Flight 93, Cry, the Beloved Country, 9/11, On the Waterfront, 39 Steps.

Ones I like because of my personal interests: Gettysburg and A Night to Remember.

Cabrini is good.

Mouse that Roared and Secret Life of Pets are comedies I enjoyed a lot.

Maybe for special tastes, but I’ve watched them repeatedly: A Hard Day’s Night and Jurassic Park.

There will always be a special place in this man’s heart for Wicked: Part 1 and 2. And honestly, watching Wicked made me appreciate the original Wizard of Oz that much more.

Another good one (and this is more of an adult movie then it is a kid movie) but it’s It Ends With Us. That one is a tear-jerker. I had a good cry watching that one. I know most men could care less about chick flicks, but I love watching a good chick flick! There’s something about a chick flick that just makes you feel good you know?

A coworker of mine took Wicked too seriously. After seeing the stage performance, she said, “This is the real story of the Wizard of Oz.” I told her that the Wizard of Oz isn’t real.

Haha! That’s so cute. I wish I could’ve been there, I would’ve said “I’ve been to see the wizard. As every good Ozian knows, you have to be swept up in a tornado to find Oz, just be careful not to land in the desert. They don’t call it the “Deadly Desert” for no reason.”

Risen

It’s the story of Longinus The soldier who Thrust the spear into Jesus’ side.

I second A Hard Day’s Night, Jurassic Park, and Risen. Some other favorites and must see movies:

Shattered Glass
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Cool Hand Luke
It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
Blazing Saddles
Amadeus
The Horse Whisperer
Legends of the Fall
Patch Adams
Hook
You’ve got Mail
Gladiator
Troy
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
The 10th Kingdom (television mini series)
