How can GOD hear everyone’s prayers?
The simple answer is that God is omnipotent, meaning that He has unlimited power; able to do anything.
I recently saw a video where a blind kid became a Sports announcer. It is incredible! He can imagine the plays based on the sound of the bounce of the ball, the squeak of a shoe, and the response of the crowd simultaneously.
God is like that, only He not only knows the names of every player, in this game we call life, but God is life. And not only does He know every player’s name, Luke 12:7 says that God knows even the number of hairs on every player’s head : )
This frightens some people, that God has this much power and knowledge about every individual. And that He has the power to move mountains (Isaiah 40:4).
“And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will He hears us.” — 1 John 5:14
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.” — Proverbs 3:5-6
Welcome to the forum! And thank you for your question. I’m sure others will have more to say about this great topic.
Many years ago, I heard a story about a preacher who was in Africa, I think. Someone asked him how God can hear us if we all talk at once. His answer: God is not a man.
It use to be thought that Angels would bring the prayers to God.Your own personal Angel.
The Bible tells us there are countless Angels of different kinds. At the wedding feast of the lamb millions upon millions show up to celebrate. They are servants and messengers of God.Today no one believes in Angels even though they are in the Bible from beginning to end. They were once considered the messengers going back and forth but it cannot be believed today.
The Angels would be the buffer bringing only the prays worthy of Gods attention.
We were just talking about this in our Men’s Bible Study (based on one of the Readings from a few week’s back).
We joked that it doesn’t matter how bad you sing Praises to the Lord, because the Angels will put it through an auto-tuner before they deliver it to God : )
Angels might bring our prayers to God, but Hebrews 4:16 says we can boldly approach the throne.
How can God hear everyone at the same time? How many flowers bloom every spring, all over the world? Can they be counted? How many new leaves sprout on the branches of trees at this time? We accept that “not a blade of grass over except by the will of the Lord”. God tenderly opens every flower bud, and every new leaf…all at the same time…effortlessly. Why can He not hear each of our prayers. He resides in each of our hearts as the all-pervasive Holy Ghost, simply waiting for us to turn to Him. Why can He not hear our individual prayers, all at the same time? God has created each of us, as an individual spirit soul. God is our source of emanation. Everything is part of God. Everything in creation is God’s creation. Nothing can exist apart. Even the evil exists in God. He gives us choice. And we have responsibility. Without His sanction, not a blade of grass moves. Therefore God creates both goodness and evil through all of us. But we are responsible for our choice. “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” is not a sentiment…it’s a warning. As we sew, so shall we reap. This is God’s law.
You have given me something new to ponder. I have never thought of it like this, but I think you are onto something here.
Thank you for having an open mind and heart. This idea escapes all the people who are involved in “scamming” others today, or are engaged in hurtful, or criminal activities. So nice to relate to someone who can think for themself. Jesus did not want blind followers. Everything should make sense. Sometimes, when receiving a scam phone call or text message I try to explain this concept to the caller, by telling them that acting in that way will never serve to make them happy. Even in this life, they will “reap” the fruits of their actions. Thanks again, Peter
