Does God create people's bodies as well or does He just give people souls?

Does God create people’s bodies as well, or does He just give them souls? You know how some people are born with disabilities and diseases while others look like they won the genetic lottery? This makes me think that God doesn’t create people’s bodies, I guess He simply lets the genetics play along? I’ve heard people say that disease and disability and sickness of any kind come from our fallen state in the world but God does not dwell in sin nor does He create with sin. So why are some people born very ill and others are not? If he willingly creates some with illness while blessing others with perfect bodies then He must really be unfair. Does God just let the genetic frameworks play out by sheer luck and chance, and then proceed to give the body a soul?

Peace to all,

Sickness and genetic diseases are caused by original sin.
Devolution is caused by sin. That’s why we live shorter than Adam and the Patriarchs before the Flood.
But other problems are caused by human caused environmental factors such as glyphosate and atrazine contamination of food and water, etc. For example, vaccines cause autism:

It’s not a genetic lottery or sheer luck and chance. Otherwise any person would have random chances of being born black, white, Asian, etc. The genes come from the parents, and each person is limited to that genetic inheritance. All the trouble with our bodies is not God’s plan. St. Paul wrote that all creation groans in agony (Romans 8:22).

if it were not god’s plan and if god were creating people’s bodies it would not exist
the only explanation in this case god doesn’t create people’s bodies, therefore bodies that go against his plan exist. also don’t you think that it is a problem with looking somebody born disabled in the eye and telling them ‘‘you are not god’s plan’’?

I didn’t say that any person is not part of God’s plan, I said that the trouble with our bodies is not God’s plan. An example that is similar to what you describe is in the Gospels. People asked Jesus whose fault it was that a man was born blind. Jesus answered that it was not because of anybody’s sin, it was so that the glory of God would be shown. Why did the man have to wait from infancy to adulthood to be cured? I don’t know. Why doesn’t God cure everybody with a physical problem? I don’t know that either. But I think that God does want His glory to be shown through us. When we love people enough to help them, that helps people to see God.

people have to live with trouble with their bodies… and saying what you said simply means that that person is not god’s plan

that’s basically saying that their existence is a mistake i mean come on now

Well, then, if you are saying that God planned everything about everyone, including health or lack of health, maybe you have answered your original question. Since Jesus healed people, can we conclude that it was God’s will for people to be freed from the ill health that God planned for them? Were health problems and healing both part of God’s plan? And, more important, what should we be doing as part of God’s plan?

Peace to all,

Souls are created for all mankind. Virgin Birth explains souls pre-existing not requiring blood and water birth.

Angels are souls created from the spirit.

This is a great question! I believe God created the original humans, and invited them to participate in creation. Souls are infused at the spark of conception.

We know that if a mother drinks alcohol or consumes certain drugs (legal or illegal), this may cause defects. It does not mean that this human soul has any less value in the eyes of God.

Other factors maybe the age at which the parents were when they conceived. Society tells women to get careers and have babies when they are in their 40’s and 50’s, but we know that there is more risk as you get older. I wish my Wife and I would have had more children when we were younger. We lost our baby boy late in the pregnancy a few years back and it was one of the hardest things we’ve experienced as a couple, but also a very joyful time as well. God blessed us during that difficult time.

I have not read yet what others posted in response, but I’m sure they will have differing viewpoints.
