Ater accidentally stumbling upon your facebook site today Mike, I think I understand a lot better where you are coming from. Yes, either you are related to JW or the traditionalist side of SDA who still hold that Jesus was an angel, and who reject the Trinity.
Both JW and SDA are faith groups, and who have as a cornerstone of their belief system that the Catholic Church is wrong.
Mike, I would encourage you to grow your real world relationships. You may hopefully one day see that being a lot on the internet is so boring compared to how interesting real relationships are. You may also lose the futile urge to “win” over the catholics. May God be with you, and may your closest friends be able to support you in this.

The founder of the JW’s is Charles Taze Russell. Joseph Smith was the founder of mormonism. To confuse matters, Russell was originally an adventist, and probably at that time adopted their then-view that Jesus was not God. The adventists, in order to be seen as a mainline church, adopted later the trinitarian view, whereas the JW have never performed that transition.

Why were they attempting to stone him to death? Because he was talking about history? (or maybe it was his claim to be the I AM spoken of to Moses in the Bush.

What name? Who are we talking about? ONE name encompassing all?
In the book of Isaiah:
“And thou shalt call HIS name, “Immanuel” meaning “God WITH us”. He shall be called Counselor. Prince of Peace. Mighty GOD.”
So the Jesus prophesied in Isaiah. THAT Jesus will be called Mighty GOD?
IN BRIEF: The doctrine of the Trinity goes beyond our mere human reasoning to fully grasp. It doesn’t make sense to our earthly senses that you have a God that is simultaneously ONE, but also Three Persons.
But just because something doesn’t make sense to US, doesn’t mean that it’s not true, or that the Bible through all its numerous books doesn’t hint at such a reality. It’s BEYOND reason but not unreasonable (that’s where faith comes in).
