Where did we get the numbering of The Bible?

I just learned that The Bible got its chapters & verses numbering in year 1200 A.D. by a British scholar who later became the Catholic Archbishop of Canterbury.

And then it was later implemented by a French printer named Robert Stephanus in the mid-16th century.
