Hello everyone! I am a 18 years old Catechumena from Italy and have just discovered this forum, which seems pretty active to me. Hope to bond with you all and learn more about the faith! Any books I could read about saints or about the religion or other bibliography you recommend? What are your favourite saints? Mine are Hildegard von Bingen, Teresa d’Avila and Queen Esther and Jeanne d’Arc
Welcome! That is awesome that you are a Catechumena. I have never been to Italy. I have a customer who visits there every other month. She has family there.
My favorite Saints are Saint Maximillian Kolbe, Venerable Fulton J. Sheen, and Venerable Augustus Tolton, to name a few.
As far as books go, my favorite recommendations are Dr. Scott Hohn’s “A Father Who Keeps His Promises: God’s Covenant Love in Scripture” and the “Surprised by Truth” series.
Trent Horn’s books are pretty good to. I still need to finish “Counterfeit Christs: Finding the Real Jesus Among the Impostors.”
C.S. Lewis’ “Mere Christianity” is also great!
The Big Green Catechism of the Catholic Church is a great companion to the Bible. You can look up verses in the appendix and see where the Catechism references these.
My new favorite App is Catena, which has many references to the Early Church Fathers when you click on any Biblical verse. This has been a great help when studying the Scriptures.
Glad you are here and God Bless.
Welcome. My favorite saints are Thomas More, Gus Tolton, and Marianne Cope (I wrote a play about her).
