Devil's advocate. Where in Bible does it say Jesus is God?

So. Here is the best research i can find.

First. To post the easiest ones. These bible verses, since “Gospel of Mark” is said to be the earliest, i am going with the earliest gospel.

This Gospel verse is, basically connecting to the vision Daniel had of the Son of Man (Both the original vision and the interpretation of that dream)

Mark 14:62

“I am,” said Jesus. “And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven.”

Daniel 7:13-14

13 “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man,[a] coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. 14 He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

Daniel 7:26-27

26 “‘But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever. 27 Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.’

This one talks about how we are healed through the wounds of Jesus.

Isaiah 53:5

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

And here is from Isaiah 53:11. To to make it crystal clear on who the mediator between God and Mankind is from the Old Testament

After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.

(

(will justify)

So. If that doesn’t convince the ultra sceptics, then i dont know what will.

But i heard a joke once. People who don’t know Jesus sees him everywhere in Old Testament, but people who don’t want to find Jesus there, will not find him

Explicitly Called God by Others

  • Apostle Thomas: After the resurrection, Thomas exclaimed, “My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28). Jesus accepted this title without correction.
  • Gospel of John Opening: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). Verse 14 clarifies that the “Word” is Jesus.
  • Apostle Paul: In Titus 2:13, Paul refers to Jesus as “our great God and Savior,” and in Romans 9:5, he calls Christ “God over all, blessed forever”.
  • The Father (God): In Hebrews 1:8, God the Father is described as saying to Jesus, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever”.
  • “Before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58): Jesus used the divine name “I AM” (Ego eimi), which God used for Himself in Exodus 3:14.
  • “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30): His listeners understood this as a claim to deity and attempted to stone him for blasphemy, saying he made himself God.
  • “I am the Alpha and the Omega” (Revelation 1:8; 22:13): In the book of Revelation, Jesus applies these titles—reserved for the Almighty—to himself.

Peace to all,

Saint Paul wrote Romans and 11:36 is a powerful declaration from the Bible, often summarized as: “For from him and through him and for him are all things. In him be glory forever! Amen,” highlighting that God is the source (origin), sustainer (path), and ultimate purpose (goal) of everything, deserving eternal praise. It emphasizes God’s sovereignty over creation, providence, and redemption, linking everything back to His divine plan and glory.

The Holy Spirit is God rationally preexisting from undeflied intelligence logic conceived in the created souls of all through the created flesh for all becoming again One Holy Spirit Family One God in being, OMNiLogically.

And in the beginning the Word is the Holy Family and The Word is all in the Family of God from the Father through the Mother for the Son becoming for all mankind through the Christ. And each God is personal Gods preexisting before creation was ever created was even created proving the Holy Family members Gods from preexstence and not created beings, logically, and each God is equal in the Powers of God and always together in One Holy Family One God in being becoming again for all in One Holy Family through The Christ, I believe.

Peace always,
Stephen

The problem is. Ultra sceptics will not accept Paul. Or any Gospels than Mark. Since they think Mark was the first Gospel, and that it later got “Quote on quote” corrupted.

Which is why i heavily relied on this one part of Gospel of Mark, with rest being from Old Testament.

And while i am at it. Some Jewish apologetics have said Isaiah usage of the word “Servant” means the nation of Israel. While that can be true. The one problem is. Some Talmud people in the past. Has been making the meaning that Isaiah 53 is specifically talking about the future Messiah as a individual person.

But God will show the truth!

But this is to showcase that Apostle Paul, knew what he was talking about. And anyone saying otherwise. Will just refuse to see it. Even when its so crystal clear by evidence of the Old Testament

Peace to all,

“Your neck muscles were iron, your forehead was bronze” is a powerful biblical metaphor from Isaiah 48:4, describing the people of Israel as extremely stubborn, unyielding, and resistant to God’s guidance, like a stiff, unbending neck and a hard, impenetrable brow. It signifies deep-seated obstinacy, preventing them from listening or changing direction, despite God’s clear warnings and actions.\

The Hebrews were picked to carry the “Chosen” Sacrifice out of Egypt to the Promise Land through the Ark of the Covenant, from Animal Sacrifice becoming again through the New Living Sacrifice in the New Covenant becoming for all in both natures, spirit and life, God and Temple, becoming again for all Creation in One Divine Spirit Family One God in being.

And even until today, logically the God from The Faith of Abrhahm resurrects life out of the Bosom of Abraham becoming through flesh immortalization in The New Eve from Incorruptible Holy Spirit power becoming fr rJesus in the New Adam becoming for One Body through the Christ for all mankind from Sacrifice through Penance in both natures from the spirit through the life becoming again for all Creation in One Divine Spirit Family One God in being, OMNiLogically, I believe.

Peqace always,

As others have said above, the gospels are full of texts that suggest that Jesus is God. John’s Gospel chapter one, about the Word being made Flesh, and John 10:30 ‘I and the Father are one’ do seem to indicate that Jesus made these claims.

But if anyone doubts this, there’s always the option of joining the Unitarian Church, where they think that Jesus was a divinely-inspired teacher.

Or, instead of trying to settle the question, you could just carry on praying and attending Mass, getting the benefit of the divine presence, and saying, ‘Lord, I believe - help thou mine unbelief.’

Imagine being Jewish and arguing against the Messiah. It is almost as though they believe that all of this is so that they can have a chunk of land. God promised them freedom in person of Jesus Christ (who came out of this land).

I think you are correct. If you are only thinking about the things of this world, then you will not see that Jesus is pointing to the New Jerusalem (Heaven).

Even Jewish individuals of Jesus’ day believed Jesus was claiming to be God. But, as was prophesied, they rejected Jesus (Psalm 118:22; Matthew 21:42; Mark 12:10-11; Luke 20:17; Acts 4:11; 1 Peter 2:7).

But, some might say, this does not prove that Jesus is God. For me, the “I Am” in John 8:58 points to God in the burning bush in Exodus 3:14. And notice that Jesus doesn’t say, “I was” (past tense). I believe Jesus is saying here that He is indeed eternal God.

If someone does not believe in the Holy Trinity it does not wreck my relationship with God. It might, however, wreck their own relationship with the One Who Is (God).

I respect Jesus as the son of God, His intimate servant. The Lord says in Isaiah 53:31, “by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many.” Therefore I see Jesus as the righteous servant of the Lord, and not as God Himself.
When God’s righteous servant, comes to our earthly world, he comes here because we are filled with transgressions. He tells us that he is in this world, but not of this world. He comes here with one purpose…….to bring us closer to our eternal Father. He tells us that there is no way to approach the Father except through himself. To approach God through Jesus is to “accept the yoke that he bears”, which is the yoke of love which is born by one who loves the Lord. Jesus encourages us to love God, his Father, as he loves his Father.

Jesus is the righteous servant of his Father, God’s righteous servant. Coming into this world filled with iniquity, Jesus places himself at the mercy of the sinful who are averse to his message of love lf God. If we were not sinful, he would not have to come to save us. Therefore in order to save us he agrees to be pierced because we are faithless. And he rises again so that our little faith can increase.
Those who genuinely accept him, are “healed”. Is there one among us who has been healed and now “loves the Lord our God with all of our heart, all of our mind, and all of our strength“ , as Jesus instructs? Or are we sometimes concerned only with our own pleasures?

(Daniel 14), Jesus was given authority. The Lord gave authority to Jesus. Jesus is empowered by God to do God’s work in the material world. He is God’s ambassador who is empowered by God, and therefore should be given the resepect that is due to God……just as the ambassador of the president is given the respect that is due to the president……although he is not the president.

Jesus tells us that when we see him he will be sitting at the right hand of God, because he is God’s intimate servant. God is the Father and Jesus is the good servant of the Father. But because he comes to us as God’s representative, we should receive him as we would receive God Himself. But the church has removed God from the throne so that Jesus cannot sit at his right hand. The church says that God does not sit on a throne…….that this is only a metaphor.

Jesus comes to us to teach us what love of God looks like. And he asks us to accept the yoke that he bears. Jesus is love of God personified. He wants us to love the Lord as he does. His eternal walk is “Not my will, but Thy will be done.” He renounces his every personal desire in order to fulfill the desire of the Lord. In this way and teaches us by his own example.

Also. “Isaiah 52:14” in the Dead Sea Scrolls. Describes it literally as “Person” human being. So… it is hard to argue that Isaiah 53 is not about a personal messiah when one has that context. But i digress.

Peace to all,

And even more profoundly, Jesus says, “Before Abraham, I Am.”

God is the Holy Spirit Family One God in being. The “Sophia” Wisdom is The Entire Undefiled Logical Intelligence of The Family Mind of God becoming for all in The Christ through the flesh from the spirit becoming again for all Creation in One Holy Spirit Family One God in being, OMNiLogically.

The Holy Spirit is the Family of God is what we tell the Popes, the Preachers, and all Disciples and all mankind, I believe.

Most Preachers love the logic, and even Priests I have spoken to follow the logic, I believe.

I speak to Muslims I know, and they believe, I believe.

Peace always,
Stephen
