What are some of your favorite Catholic phone apps, either on Android or iPhone?

Mine, on Android from the Play Store, are My Catholic Life and Amen.

Of these, the Apps that I currently use the most are in this order:

  1. Catena (Simply read the Bible with the Early Church Fathers!)
  2. Orthodox Study Bible (not Catholic, but very nice Bible App)
  3. Truthly (Apologetics A.i.)
  4. Laudate (Saints of the Day, Daily Readings, Catholic Prayers & Devotionals)
  5. MassTimes (Great for when you are on vacation or business trips!)

Thanks for sharing. I’m using the latest Android version as of today. I was able to install both Truthly and Orthodox Study Bible (OSB) apps from the Google Play Store. However, Catena wouldn’t install apparently because it hasn’t been updated for recent Android devices.

Bummer! I really like Catena. It is a very simple app, but it has really helped me in my study of Scripture. You can click on any verse in the Bible and you usually get about six to eight commentaries from Early Church Fathers and Theologians on that particular verse.

Both the OSB and Truthly cost money. Truthly, unfortunately is a recurring subscription, which I hate! I’d much rather pay a large one-time charge than pay for a subscription, feeding into Project 2030, where “You will own nothing and you will be happy” (or else).

I may be able to get the Catena app installed on my desktop PC (also available on Mac) using BlueStacks. BlueStacks has an Android Emulator which the user can configure to emulate older versions of Android. I’ll give that a try. TY. :+1:
