Share your experiences with saints and novenas

Would anybody like to share their experiences with novenas? for me I always pray to st. charles borromeo and st. therese of lisieux and st. raphael the archangel because every time i do so my petitions are answered days before the novena concludes but my experiences haven’t been the same with other saints unfortunately. also has anyone else been doing the impossible novena since the 25th of march?

During the Covid-19 pandemic my wife and I prayed a novena for our family to St. Marianne Cope, asking for protection from the the disease. No one in our immediate family got Covid-19. I don’t know whether it’s because of the novena, but after it was over, my wife and I visited the Marianne Cope shrine in Syracuse, New York, to say thank you. (Marianne Cope was a Franciscan sister who ran St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse and eventually went with other sisters to Hawaii to serve the lepers. I was a volunteer hospital chaplain when I first learned about her, so I made her one of my patron saints.)

I don’t know what the impossible novena is, but on March 25, many people in our parish began nine months of prayer for an unborn baby whom we are spiritually adopting and who is in danger of abortion. The daily prayers continue through Dec. 25.

that is the impossible novena!! it starts on 25th of march and takes 9 months in it you pray for 3 impossible requests everyday and you basically commemorate the pregnancy of the Mother of God for 9 months everyday, every day that she carried Jesus in her holy womb

If I need to be more specific, most recently, I did a novena to st. raphael the archangel and I prayed that my brain tumor (it was an endocrinological tumor meaning it produces hormones 100x more than what the body needs so it devastates the body) would be healed and so would my hormones. I took blood test results on I believe the 5th day of the novena and all my blood tests came back normal and a week after I learned that the tumor has disappeared. Before that I did novenas to several other saints (i do novenas perpetually), they haven’t been answered yet. When I did a novena to st. charles borromeo the last time all of them became answered before the novena was concluded. And I had the same experience with st. there of lisieux. All my petitions were answered before the novena concluded, and even after it concluded she kept on praying for me and I felt her influence. It was her who gave me my name also. ‘‘Rosarie’’

can you have more than 1 patron saint??

Sure. My parents named me Stephen Gerard, so both are my patrons. I chose James for my confirmation name, so that’s a third. And certain professions have patron saints too. Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland, so the Irish have him as well, and various other countries have a patron saint. My wife’s hometown (El Salvador City in the Philippines) has Saint Roque as its patron, and I’m sure that the people selected him.
