I recall the story of that Saturday morning , when the apostle’s said they wanted to go to the big party at Mara Largo . Jesus said I’ll pass . I’m going to the Haitian center and offer comfort and will likely find someone in need of my shirt , which I will give away
I remember the following morning (Sunday Morning) where the apostles were all attending Mass at a Church in Mara Largo. And as they were coming out of Mass, they spotted Jesus shirtless. They went up to him and said “We had such a good time Jesus. We were praising your name, cause we know you are our Savior and we know you will save the entire world from the clutches of evil.” And Jesus just turned to them and said “Do you not know that my power dwells within each and every one of you? You don’t need me to save you, you never did. You have the power within yourselves to save yourselves. I can certainly help you, make no mistake, but in the end the only person who will save you is yourself. The only reason I came down here was to simply remind you of the power you have within.”
First, I would say don’t make your politics your religion.
Second, I would say that the Somali immigrants are doing quite well in their scamming of American tax dollars, but the Haitian can use some help ; ) I am friends with members of the LDS Church and their Missionaries are teaching the Haitians English where we live.
Third, the people of Mara Largo need our Prayers too. Many are spiritually hurting.
I will close with the beatitudes:
"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the land.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the clean of heart,
for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you
and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me.
Rejoice and be glad,
for your reward will be great in heaven."
