Is anyone else praying the Devotion to our Lord's Holy Wounds?

I find the devotion to His Holy Wounds to be incredibly powerful and I’m very surprised that I almost never even hear of it. I do believe He led me to his Holy Wounds, otherwise I’d probably never have learned of this wonderful devotion.

I had to look this up. Are you referring the Chaplet of the Five Wounds of Christ or the Novena to the Holy Wounds of Jesus? Or something else?

The Chaplet of the Five Wounds.

Quote:Most loving Jesus, meek Lamb of God, I, a miserable sinner, salute and worship the most Sacred Wound of Your Shoulder on which You bore Your heavy Cross which so tore Your flesh and laid bare Your bones as to inflict on You an anguish greater than any other wound of Your Most Blessed Body. I adore You, O Jesus most sorrowful; I praise and glorify You, and give You thanks for this most sacred and painful Wound, beseeching You by that exceeding pain, and by the crushing burden of Your heavy Cross, to be merciful to me, a sinner, to forgive me all my mortal and venial sins, and to lead me on towards Heaven along the Way of Your Cross. Amen. End Quote

Yes, that is a separate devotion to His most painful wond, on his shoulder, from carrying the cross itself. It’s another good one to pray.

“Most loving Jesus, meek Lamb of God, I, a miserable sinner, salute and worship the most Sacred Wound of Your Shoulder on which You bore Your heavy Cross which so tore Your flesh and laid bare Your bones as to inflict on You an anguish greater than any other wound of Your Most Blessed Body. I adore You, O Jesus most sorrowful; I praise and glorify You, and give You thanks for this most sacred and painful Wound, beseeching You by that exceeding pain, and by the crushing burden of Your heavy Cross, to be merciful to me, a sinner, to forgive me all my mortal and venereal sins, and to lead me on towards Heaven along the Way of Your Cross. Amen.”

Doesn’t sound like a regular person would speak.

Ha-ha! : ) Many of these traditional Prayers were written in another time period. It’s like reading the King James version of the Bible. We used to joke, because our Uncle (a Truck Driver) would say Thanksgiving grace in King James speak.

I’m NOT the author, just a daily user, and I AM VERY far from perfect. God Bless you

But if that is how you say it, my comment still stands.
