The belief that Jesus is God’s Son is central to Christianity. The Son to be eternally with God the Father, and he became human through Mary. Mary becomes the First Christ on Earth from the Annunciation through the Immaculate Conception in the Will of the Father receiving the Holy Spirit Will becoming the Immaculate Conception and in the Assumption bypassing death for Resurrection.
In the Catholic faith, Mary is called “Mother of God” (Theotokos in Greek) because she is the mother of Jesus, who is God incarnate.
