Abortion is evil and wrong. It is a religious issue AND a human rights issue. Jimmy was wrong in saying that it is not a religious issue. And Jimmy is not condoning abortion. In fact, he is arguing the opposite. That abortion is wrong. So a “heretic” agrees with you that you should not snuff the life from unborn human beings.
I just realized Aiken committed heresy 3 times, not two, in his podcast and in his book.
His three statements “abortion is not a religious issue” is blatant heresy because it is a denial of the 5th commandment and infallible Catholic doctrine.

Now many Catholics and people all over the world have been lied to about abortion.
Now many Catholics and non-Catholics worldwide believe his heresy because of his popularity.
I’m not sure that many do. Everyone in this thread does not believe it (and I like Jimmy Akin.) I believe he has helped lead individuals to Christ than you or I have. Again, if you feel this strongly about the man’s error, go to him and tell him (as the Bible says). If he does not listen to you, then take two. And if he still does not listen, then go to the Church.

Abortion is most definitely a religious subject, as Our Lady is the Immaculate CONCEPTION.
The argument is not based on a solely political level, where natural-rights are misused to vote-in abortion, because of that dogma to do with Our Lady and the author-of-this-thread’s defence, the Ten Commandments, amongst others and not excluding the very meaning behind one’s faith. Abortion is, at best (not worse), killing for convenience.

Frankly, in terms of trying to reason with agnostics and atheists about the morality of abortion, the facts have already been presented. These issues on abortion have been presented in the media thousands of times and it seems to be that there isn’t much hope in sight. Planned Parenthood recently released their 2025 annual report and nearly half a million abortions were performed. With all of the resources, and the fact that Planned Parenthood itself prides itself on education, it’s hard to believe that people don’t believe that the child in the mother’s womb is a life.
Even though it is horrible, I’m not surprised that I’ve seen people either publicly or online saying that they just want to kill the baby and that they know it is alive. At this point, it’s not about education (though of course, we should still try to educate people), it is a Satan and morality issue. There is something wrong with humanity’s heart for these infant lives and it’s not going to be swayed for a very long time.

Quite. Yet the problem is that it is only blasphemy for those who believe in God. Those who don’t, blasphemy doesn’t apply in explicit terms. As another person on this thread, said rightly, “…it is a Satan and morality issue”. Those who don’t believe in God, don’t necessarily live up to moral standards and if they do try then much of the time they’ll be contradictory in their principles; and as far as Satan goes, they probably don’t believe he exists and so even if he has some control over them, they won’t know that, and so won’t be able to do anything about the problem.
(I like the ‘New Eve’ bit, by the way)
