Jesus was one and left one Church as one body so why there are 50,000 piece of Jesus one body?

At the same time, it is a simple and a complex question.

In simple terms, people aren’t perfect, and that creates two problems. (the simple answer ends here: people make mistakes. Now continue with a little more deep analysis)

Although Jesus left one Church, over time, and with more and more people, the Church became susceptible to human mistakes. Thats the first problem.

Also, people who are not part of the Church institution but believe in Jesus may start to lose their faith or try to find other churches because they seem better for them in some way, and that is the second problem.

Now joining the two problems: when the Church does or says something that an individual does not agree with (and this may be because either one, or both, are wrong), the individual leaves the Church and may or may not join another similar religion, so he feels like he now has the same faith, but without what he disagrees with.

On one hand, I understand the creation of some Protestant churches. Especially in the past, the Church went through things that are literally against Jesus’ teachings about loving others. The Inquisition is one example. Selling documents that would work as an “entrance to heaven” is another thing that was wrong. In some way, creating other churches to stay in the faith but avoid a bad phase of the Catholic Church was understandable, although not necessarily the correct way of thinking.

I believe that the Church founded by Jesus, the Catholic Church, is the best one, but although it is not the best scenario, Protestant churches are “ok,” at least in comparison with some other religions or being atheist. It is said that “who searches for the truth finds God” (I translated it directly from my language, I don’t know if the equivalent in English has exactly those words, but it has the same idea). Being loyal and following Jesus’ teachings, at the end of the day, is already the best thing you can do. I believe the best way is to do it within the Catholic faith, but following Jesus eanting to do the best thing is considered by God.

Because instead of Catholics praying about any areas within the Church that they deemed problematic, and which would have undoubtedly led to a greater conversion within themselves, they went their own way and became heretics.

While we don’t often use the word ‘heretic’ in the modern era, as history brings to mind people being burned at the stake under (so-called Christian) monarchs, it is however still a valid term to denote someone who has publicly opposed Church teaching.
