The Best Video game I've Ever Played that Displays Spirituality in a Different Light

Has anyone here ever played Final Fantasy X? Here’s a very brief summary of what the game is about:

The game is set in the world of Spira and follows the story of Tidus and Yuna. Tidus is a star athlete blitzball player, who is taken to Spira by Auron after a monster called Sin destroys his home city of Zanarkand. Tidus then joins the summoner, Yuna on her pilgrimage with her guardians to defeat Sin and bring about the Calm.

Lots of parallels being made with religion in this game. There’s just several differences, like instead of Jesus being a savior figure, it’s someone else. I don’t want to spoil the game, but if you ever get the chance to play this game, it’s a good one. It’s out on PS5 and Nintendo Switch, I don’t think it’s out on Xbox though. But I beg you to play it, but just know that in this game you fight enemies, and having a knowledge about Conditional Turn-Based Battle system will help you out tremendously. I’m posting the opening to Final Fantasy X and the opening to Final Fantasy X-2 (just because the video is awesome to watch), but yeah, you should look into it:

I am more of a Final Fantasy 2 guy (Hot take for sure).

But always been wanting to play FF10 game one of these days! The graphics are awesome.

Btw, i can recommend Kingdom Hearts series. They are pretty fun!

Oh Kingdom Hearts will always have a special place in this man’s heart. Everyone in my family laughs at me cause I’ll cry over characters that are made-up, but some of these videogames have a way of tugging at the heart strings. But yes, Kingdom Hearts is awesome! Kingdom Hearts 4 is still in development, but I hope I’ll be able to play it, I don’t have a PS5 yet….

Note: For those of you who haven’t played Kingdom Hearts yet, I’m putting up a major spoiler. You’ve been warned.

DonaldDuck, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS VIDEO! I still cry whenever they show Roxas and Namine seeing eachother again, and Sora and Kairi reuniting too. I love this videogame.

I am more of a Tabletop Board Gamer, and I would recommend “Architects of the West Kingdom.” You are building Churches, buildings, and a giant Cathedral. There is a virtue track, so you have the option to play in ways that are upright and just or play in less than honorable ways, but there are consequences to your actions. It is a worker placement, which means that you place a worker and take an action based on where you place him. This is my favorite board game.

I’m curious what the rules are, or if there are any rules, for playing in a less than honorable way. They say that evil never plays by the rules, but good does.

You can go to the black market or steal from the tax collector (as a Libertarian, I justify this behavior quite often, because they stole it from me first ; ) You can hire some shady characters that do some shady things that benefit you as well.

But, if your virtue marker dips below a certain point on the good/evil scale, then you are not able to help build on the Cathedral and do a few other things. Likewise, if your marker goes above a certain point on the good/evil scale, you cannot enter the black market (they apparently don’t trust goody-two-shoes there).

Oh, and you can break people out of prison if you want to too : )

I rarely win the game, because I like to start of being a bad guy, imagine that I have experienced conversion in my life, and see the error in my ways. I may still steal from the tax office what they stole from me though ; )

Interesting.

I’m more into social deduction games, like One Night Ultimate Werewolf LOL.

“One Night” is my daughter’s favorite game. We met the guy who does the voice on the app at Origins a few years back!
