I interacted with a gentleman yesterday who is trying to find work, but has a criminal record which makes it hard to get hired anywhere.
He wants to put the past behind him and has been rehabilitated for two years now. He has met a good woman and they are expecting their first baby.
He wants to be the best provider, but his past is making this very difficult.
I told him that I understand both his situation and the employer’s concerns (i.e. is he going to steal from the company, is he going to cause physical harm to anyone, is he going to show up to work, or is going to show up to work high or intoxicated, all are valid residencies when hiring someone with a criminal background). I also told him that I would keep him in my Prayers. So that is what I am doing here.
Please Pray for AJ. He needs conversion in his life (and employment). I do not know if he has a relationship with the Lord, if he has intentions of committing to this woman and child, or what his past crimes have been. I didn’t feel like it was any of my business, but God knows.
