How to Quote Reply to Others on CatholicTalk

I know we have some new members here, so I wanted to give a little tutorial on how to quote reply to others.

Simply highlight the portion of the text that you would like to quote and then hit “Reply” and the quoted portion should show up with the proper quote-brackets. Anything outside of the quote-brackets is your response.

Then, if you would like to further quote other portions, simply put:
Copy & paste quoted text here.
So put the open and close quote brackets above and below.

Hope this helps : )

Let me know if you have any other questions about how to us this site.

For instance, putting the “@” symbol before a user’s name tags them in the post.

And you can private message someone by clicking on their profile name (on their post) and clicking the “Message” button. Otherwise anything you post in reply on this forum is public (outside of your Mailbox).

Thank you. If I select text and click Copy Quote, that seems to work. Sometimes I copy and paste something and add my own quotation marks. And I had no idea how people were making @username links, @Cade_One. And recently another guy asked me to lead part of the Divine Mercy Chaplet. I know the responses, but I still messed up leading it. I told him, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” Arf!
