Peace to all,
Jesus was crucified Friday out of the Tomb of Jerusalem by Saturday 3 am, I believe.
Peace alwyas,

StephenAndrew,

Two things about your post -
In your previous post, you said that the Messiah was in the Tomb on Wednesday night, Thursday night and Friday night.
Now you’re saying He was only in the tomb for one night. Which one is correct?

Right, Jesus arrived in the Tomb of Jerusalem on a Donkey, in Jerusalem on Wednesday, I believe.
Peace always,
Stephen
OK, now I know you’ve just been messing with me. So, I think we’re done here.
The kettle calling the pot the same color.
I came across an interesting article online by Nick Cady on his site Theology for the People: “Was Jesus in the Grave Three Days and Three Nights? Here’s How It Adds Up”
He proposes that sometimes there was a double sabbath. It is true? I don’t know, but it sounds plausible to me.
Literalman,
Your link is dealing with the argument for a Thursday crucifixion. This topic, however, is asking if the Catholic belief in a Good Friday crucifixion is an official doctrine of the Church. Perhaps you might start a new topic to discuss a Thursday one.
You are right, my post didn’t address the original question. To my knowledge, although the Church has traditionally commemorated the crucifixion on Good Friday, neither the Bible nor the Church says on which day of the week it took place. I thought the material I found was relevant to the extended discussion above, but if the moderators think it should be a separate thread, I have no objection.
Lieralman,

So, you’re saying that it is not an official position.
To my knowledge, right. I’d be happy to be enlightened.

As would I.
