Hotel corridors per se don’t bother me, but late last month we stayed in a brand-new (actually incomplete) hotel. The room we were assigned involved going down about 8 steps to get to it; the steps had walls on both sides but no railing. My wife refused the room because she has difficulty with stairs. Also, the lobby had a short ramp up to a wall, at which the ramp dead ended. It reminded me of Casa Loco, a building of optical illusions, at Freedomland, an amusement park in the Bronx, NY, in the 1960s.

Which is more beautiful?
