Galatians 5:13-26 in New Testament and Face/Off 1997 movie brought me closer to God

I know it might sound silly. But i think the scifi action thriller by John Woo. Might actually be a Christian movie. It is a very adult rated movie however. But here is how?

Castor Troy character is a very self indulgent, and on a extreme level. Is what i imagine a very sinful life to look like

Sean Archer has his flaws. But he lives more closer to the idea of “To serve, and not to be served” which would be what living like Jesus would look like.

Even the movie itself starts off with blasphemy. But its the bad guy who does it. Overall, not sure if it was John Woo’s personal Christian faith that inspired this movie. But it is one of my favorite movies overall.

But whats your view? Basically if i could sum up what it means in words, to live like a Christian? Galatians 5:13-26 is the closest to, summed up way i can describe it. Even if there are other steps. But it is very well at explaining what it means to live like a Christian.

There are more heavier theological explainations like “Letter of the law (Literally), vs Spirit of the Law (Christian)” Jeremiah 31:31-34, 2 Corinthians 3:6. Or Bless those who curse you, i look at whether something is factual, if not i will focus on ignoring the insult and bless that person rather than to struggle and conspire and not hate that person.

Love is the key focus

But i have talked long enough. ^^

13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh[a]; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[b] 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever[c] you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Oh…my friend, movies hold so much truth it’s not even funny. Even some of these movies that seem so out there, could be more truthful than one can possibly imagine. Lot’s of code to go through, but worth it!
