The (modern-day) Jesuits

I’ve put this question into ‘Non-Catholic Religions’ and which as a category-title is pleonastic ()

To say here…

There have been solidly Catholic Jesuits since their suppression during previous centuries, while mistakes made can do damage along the way. One such solid Catholic Jesuit was Gerard Hughes who wrote, ‘God of Surprises’.

Another was St. Louis De Montfort, who wrote the ‘True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin’ - this is a highly mystical prescription and accurate for a percentage of it - and who was devoted to Our Lady.

The modern-day Jesuit Order is overall, though, heretical, of a rationalist premise to the point of being a different religion to Catholicism, having done untold damage in false representation of God, and as such should be closed down once and for all and any additions to the Church post-closure in terms of writings dating back to about the 1970s be thoroughly scrutinised.

Thoughts welcome.

That hasn’t been my experience. I’ve made 13 silent retreats at a Jesuit retreat house and didn’t find anything heretical or being like a different religion. Very much Catholic including the spiritual direction, Reconciliation, Benedictions, Eucharistic Adoration, Masses and none of the “love your Earth mother as a primary focus” kind of thing like Francis.

Just as a point of interest, did you undertake Discernment of the Spirits (nothing wrong with the Spiritual Exercises, of course, as they’re Ignatian)?

(Pope Francis was alright up to a certain point but then seemed to slip).

No I did not undertake Discernment of the Spirits.

Modern Jesuits as a whole come across as a ship without a rudder. You get pockets of individuals who seem to be Catholic but then you get swathes who are rationalistic. An Order needs to be gathered and always on point. I own ‘The New (St.) Jerome Biblical Commentary’ and this is full to the brim with heresy. It is as difficult to read as it is heavy to lift. Many rationalistic Jesuits in there as contributors. The Capuchins also have some off-key interpreters around the place…in modern times, while their heresies are less frequent and more down to one or two individuals who can remain nameless.
