Human life is extremely completed. What did our Lord have in mind

First, thank everyone (all participants) for creating and caring for this religious forum.

To begin with, I am an 87-year-old engineer and my wife, and I have raised 5 daughters and will celebrate 67 years of marriage around the end of this year. So, my wife and I have had our tragedies during those 67 years, but, through it all, we have been blessed and thank God for all of it. Human life is full of incredible miracles and horrible atrocities such as the haulacost.

My current question is, “Why are we here?” Please feel free to comment.

Awesome!

The old Catechism answered this question at the very beginning of it. We are here to love God and to be loved by God.

God is Love and He invites us to participate in His divine life.

When Scripture talks about how we were made in His image (Genesis 1:26), this is referring to the fact that we were gifted the ability to love others, to create, and to reason.

God is the ultimate Creator.

And God is Logos (meaning “reason”).
