Christians often ask if there will be animals in Heaven. What about animals in Hell?
As I said in the other thread, nah. Animals are without sin, so no Hell for them.
What if a dog kills an infant? What about the serpent who lead to the fall of man?
St. Paul said that creation groans. It is not what it should be, what it will be. I saw a blue butterfly today. I think that there may be insects like that in the new Earth, maybe all kinds of insects that have a natural place and don’t bother the children of God. Bees, for example, might pollinate flowers and make honey but not sting people. As for a dog that kills a baby, it isn’t committing a sin. It cannot make moral choices. The serpent? I think it was possessed by the devil, or the devil took that form for a while. If the devil is a physical serpent, we could kill it with a stick.
The serpent was the embodiment of Satan; and he is in Hell. Animals have no free will, they follow natural instincts. When man sinned, all nature fell; now living things can hurt each other. When the earth will be recreated, the lion will lie next to the sheep, a simile from the Bible.
…and they will all eat grass ; )
Everything you and @Literalman have said is great! You both make very good points. Thanks : )
