Sorry to hear it. There are many practicing Catholics in this region, and they don’t make a secret of their religion, one town and city in close proximity to the next and hence why I refer to a region rather than town. That said, towns and cities here are very different to each other in atmosphere and general perspectives held and I would say that people in this particular town can be ‘funny’. That is not to speak of each and every person, but a large percentage. I don’t see real communities built from parish to parish. I like some of the laity and the odd priest and religious, while on the whole there is major disobedience and I am staying away and attending online and will do so until the situation changes because I don’t think it right to keep bad company (as said, this is not every person but a generalised problem). The area consists of militantly atheistic public officials, with a diocese which has been protestantized and has simultaneously given itself over to evil politics and redirected their object of worship towards ‘the state’.
