This was a question someone made for me and other Catholics (they where also a Catholic). They asked why i have faith, why do I believe in God, making us think about our beliefs. This was a long time ago, and even today I still can’t answer completely. I think there are several reasons, but I don’t know if they are actually causes, or just implications that I learned later. I don’t really know what made me stay at the church (there was a time when I almost became atheist), but I’m not sure why I stayed. What I know, is that I believe! I must have my reasons, but do we really need to have a reason? God is with us, and IDK why, but I feel it. I have faith. I am Catholic. I don’t totally understand it all, maybe I never will, but I know God is with me. What about you guys? You don’t need to tell me why do you believe, but think about it. And not superficially, think about all reasons, not one case of “I was saved by God, or he touched my Heart in a situation” That counts, but I’m pretty sure there’s more than it.

What a grace! Thank you for your question. It does make us ponder.

I’ll tell you why I believe in God. If there were mo God there would be no universe. If it really started out as it did in the Big Bang theory, there had to be a cause. That was God. We shouldn’t need to prove that God exists.

@lgbazano, I appreciate that you admit you cannot fully answer it. I cannot either, and I have stopped trying to argue myself into belief. What holds me is smaller than an argument. A rosary prayed before bed when my head was loud. A friend who kept praying for me when I had gone cold. Faith came to me as a gift I did not earn, and it keeps arriving through ordinary people.

God Bless
