I sometimes catch a whiff of roses, mostly in my bedroom but sometimes other areas of the house with no explanation. is this a sign of Marian visitation or something else?

Our Lady is the Mystical Rose and so if you are receiving the scent of roses then it does relate to her in subject matter; sounds as if you are experiencing a blessing of miraculous substance. A (mystical) term which comes to mind is the garden of her Immaculate Heart…‘garden’, ‘roses’.

(My two cents).

Sounds like Phantosmia.

The smell of roses isn’t linked to Phantosmia. People who suffer from it tend to smell unpleasant odours. The only nicer aroma is of baked sweets.

I have heard that if you smell burnt toast you might be about to have a stroke.

I have also heard that if you smell roses that that could be related to Mary.

When I drive by Lee’s Famous Fried Chicken, it smells delicious!

The smell of rose is also associated with Saint Rita of Cassica due to the blooming of a rose garden in mid winter at her request and giving her the name “Saint of the Impossible”.

I guess i should also mention, one of my rosaries (spelling?) smelled like roses when i opened it from its package. wondering if that was also something Mary related.

Maybe. Or the individual/company that manufactured the Rosary added a rose scent to the beads?

re: “Our Lady is the Mystical Rose…”

If by “Our Lady” you’re referring to the Mary of Joseph and Mary, just understand that scripture never refers to her as that.

re: “A (mystical) term which comes to mind is the garden of her Immaculate Heart…‘garden’, ‘roses’.”

What the heck does that mean - her heart that has a garden of roses in it?

Scripture does record Jesus telling His disciple that Mary was now his mother (ie the Mother of all Christians). She is called “Our Lady” due to her being Queen of Heaven. Yes her heart is a beautiful mystical garden of roses.

Susanne.Lee,
re: "Scripture does record Jesus telling His disciple that Mary was now his mother (ie the Mother of all Christians).

I’m not aware of a scripture which has the Messiah telling a disciple that she is the mother of all Christians. What do you have in mind?

re: “She is called ‘Our Lady’ due to her being Queen of Heaven.”

Just so it’s understood that scripture never says that.

re: “Yes her heart is a beautiful mystical garden of roses.”

From where do you get that idea?
