# The Trinity / Two powers in heaven

I benefitted a lot from learning the material of Michaell Heiser, on the two powers in heaven observed in the Old Testament, so just thought I would share this material.

I find it quite interesting how the Jewish community in the 2nd century declared the belief in more than one Yahweh to be a heresy. Clearly they had believed so until then, but the problem was that the christians had grabbed that doctrine for their belief in Jesus divinity. So from then on, judaism became a religion where only God the father was God.

Allow me to make a double post here. Just discovered that there is an important contribution from “catholic brothers”, who are of course coming from a historian angle. But interesting stuff, especially how scripture ended up being taken out of the liturgy and given a role as being life-giving in itself.

Coming from being pentecostal for 23 years, I definitely can relate to the idea of scripture being the life-giver. Funny how things are “finding their place” now that I have become catholic.
