# How to Mute Someone on \*CatholicTalk\*

Some have been asking how to mute someone on this forum community and you do have this option:

**Step 1.** Go to `https://forum.catholictalk.net/u/[your user name]/preferences/users`

**Step 2.** Click the _ **+ Add…** _ button and search for the user name of the individual you wuld like to mute.

**Step 3.** Select the timeframe you would like to mute the user for.

**Reasons why you might want to mute someone:**

- They are harassing you
- He/She is saying things that you find offensive or that do not align with the Catholic Christian Faith
- The user is making spammy posts
- The individual posts too often

I think by exercising this feature, you can make your experience here on _CatholicTalk_ a more pleasant experience.
